![]() ![]() It is rounded at the edges, so there are no sharp corners to worry about. The top isn't scratch proof, especially the semi-transparent acrylic that surrounds the screen atop the table. Since my Surface 1.0 was purchased used, it has a few wear and tear marks that are noticeable even from a distance. The table top itself is made of acrylic, with a matte material covering the center of the device, where the screen is, to keep it from getting scratched or smudged. It's also worth noting that the screen itself is protected by the table top the screen isn't on the surface, it's slightly below it. Now, I obviously advise against spilling stuff on it, but if you did, the table top is designed in a way that protects the entire computer, so you won't damage it if you wipe up whatever it is you've spilled quickly. ![]() I was worried that I'd somehow break it or spill water on it or something tragic and simply ruin the whole unit. I didn't want to put anything on the screen, because there's a screen there. It's certainly among the best Windows laptops right now.At first, this was pretty difficult to get used to. If not, this latest addition to the Surface Pro line is pretty great. If you're looking for something for productivity or content creation, we'd go with the Intel-powered model, which we're in the process of reviewing. There are still hiccups, however, with ARM still seeing system compatibility and stability issues like weird screen glitches, the Edge browser constantly crashing, and the Adobe Creative Cloud bug preventing us to run Adobe Photoshop CC 2023. On top of that, Windows 11 running on the ARM-based SQ3 is mostly good. Combine those with its well-performing system, and you've got a capable device that will see you through your day-to-day. During our testing, we found its bigger screen, nested and slim pencil, and day-beating battery life to tick off many things we want from a Windows tablet.
